Terms of use

Last updated: June 2026

Agreement

By accessing or using OnCallPrep (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We may update these terms; continued use after changes means you accept the updated terms.

Educational purpose — not medical care

OnCallPrep is for educational preparation only. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. It does not create a doctor–patient relationship. Content may not reflect the latest guidelines, local policies, or individual patient circumstances.

Always use professional judgement, supervision, and authoritative sources (NICE, SIGN, BNF, local pathways) for clinical decisions. Do not use the Service as the sole basis for patient care. OnCallPrep is not affiliated with or endorsed by the RCGP, NHS, GMC, or any deanery unless we state otherwise in writing.

Eligibility and accounts

The Service is aimed at doctors and trainees preparing for UK GP training. You must provide accurate registration information and keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. Notify us promptly of suspected unauthorised use.

One account per user unless we agree otherwise. Sharing paid access in breach of these terms may result in suspension.

Subscriptions and payments

Paid (“Pro”) plans grant access for the period selected at checkout. All paid durations include the same Pro features unless we clearly state otherwise on the pricing page.

Prices, taxes, and billing intervals are shown at purchase. Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew according to the plan you choose until you cancel. Cancel via the account or support channels we provide; access continues until the end of the paid period.

Refunds are handled according to our published refund approach at the time of purchase and applicable consumer law. We may change prices for new purchases with notice where required.

Free tier

Free access includes exam guides, demo content, portfolio checklists, and core learning resources as described on our website. We may adjust free features over time.

Intellectual property

The Service, including questions, cases, text, design, and software, is owned by OnCallPrep or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for your own training while your account is in good standing.

You must not copy, scrape, resell, redistribute, or create derivative commercial products from our content without written permission. Short quotations for personal study are acceptable; systematic extraction of the question or case bank is not.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Break applicable laws or professional obligations
  • Attempt unauthorised access, disrupt the Service, or introduce malware
  • Upload patient-identifiable or confidential third-party data
  • Use automated tools to harvest content at scale
  • Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation
  • Use the Service to cheat in live examinations or breach exam rules
AI and third-party tools

Some materials discuss use of AI for reflections or study. You remain responsible for accuracy, professionalism, and compliance with RCGP, deanery, and employer rules. AI output may be wrong; verify before portfolio submission or clinical use.

Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation or that content is complete or exam-accurate.

Limitation of liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses (including loss of profits, exam outcomes, training progression, or data) arising from use of the Service. Our total liability for claims relating to the Service in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in that period or (b) £100, except where law requires otherwise.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against reasonable claims and costs arising from your breach of these terms or misuse of the Service, except where caused by our negligence or breach.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, risk to the Service, or legal requirement. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that should survive (intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits) continue after termination.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Courts in England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence if you are a consumer elsewhere in the UK or EEA.
